Tesla has just announced that the new entry-level Cybertruck will feature all-wheel drive and an impressive discount on the base Cybertruck price.

The new variant is called Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive and starts at $62,235, a total of $20,000 less than the existing all-wheel-drive trim, which will now be nicknamed “Premium.”

Despite the price reduction, there is no loss in performance: both electric motors produce the same 593 horsepower. According to Tesla, the Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive variant goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and can travel 523 km on a single charge, just like other two-motor Cybertrucks.

While performance remains virtually unchanged, Tesla has removed some features from the new base model to lower the price. First, towing capacity is relatively reduced, from approximately 4,990 kg to 3,402 kg.

The entry-level Cybertruck does not have the same air suspension found on higher trims and comes with smaller 18-inch wheels, although 20-inch wheels can be added as a $2,500 option.

While the basic Cybertruck still has an electric cover and three power outlets in the bed, it removes the two cabin outlets as well as the 9.4-inch screen for rear passengers.

The seats are also wrapped in fabric instead of synthetic leather, and the front seats are no longer ventilated. The sound system has seven speakers, fewer than the 15 in the Premium trim, and the trim also loses active noise cancellation.

It is worth noting that the price reduction is not permanent. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, appeared on his X profile and hinted that interested buyers should act quickly, as the price will be available “only for the next 10 days.”
